JH Sayyar's Sonnets

216
I have spent twenty most precious years,
To trace a true love to console a sad heart,
I fail in my mission but eyes full of tears,
That taught me to love self I to you impart.
Love is nothing the lover’s eye reflection,
You worship your shadow and you do call
It your love and deceives you its attraction,
And does lead you by and by to an utter fall
My love my being‘s crystal looking glass,
When I see her how charming is my being,
Therefore I love her in loving to surpass,
Do something my youth is rapidly fleeing.

Always love and tears do walk together,
As man with shadow in the sunny weather
