JH Sayyar's Sonnets

260
Ah! I know, no falsity I see when I am born,
Since cradle till now I learn the whole truth,
But on growing up my poor soul was worn
A black garb of lie, from top to toe in youth,
On growing up, I separate truth from the lie,
One by one in lone but heavenly books reveal,
Darkness all around, when golden light rays fly,
From earth or when the Angels all lights steal,
Light: blend of light, darkness and more heat,
Heat, passion, lie, darkness, but light in fire,
What connects light and darkness? It is heat,
If dissolves light remains behind dark liar,

Lies is darkness, but lights the whole truth,
Light: smile. Falsehood, concubine of ruth
